Guide to using the Microsoft Authenticator app

The Microsoft Authenticator app provides an extra layer of security for your Inact Now account. This guide will walk you through the process of installing and using the app to protect your Inact Now account.

In settings, the guide looks like this:

Step 1: Install the app

Open your device’s app store (Google Play Store for Android or App Store for iOS). We recommend the Microsoft authenticator (You’ll find it here)

Search for “Microsoft Authenticator” and tap the app.

Click “Install” to download and install the app on your device.

Step 2: Configure the app

Launch the Microsoft Authenticator app.

Sign in with your Microsoft account details.

Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the setup process.

Step 3: Add an account

Tap the “+” or “Add account” button in the app.

Select the type of account you want to add (in this case “work/school”).

Tap “Scan QR code”.

Tap the “Enable 2FA” button and a QR code will appear for you to scan.

The password is a 6-digit code that appears in your app and changes every 30 seconds. In this example, the password is 920 241.

Step 4: Using the app for account verification

1. You need to verify your account when you sign in to Inact Now every time.
2. Open the Microsoft Authenticator app.
3. You must use the one-time code method; the app will display a six-digit code. Enter this code on the verification screen.
